Duke - salmon bone stuck in his throat

Here is Duke, he recently came into our Sevenoaks Veterinary Surgery to see one of our Vets, Tim Rogers.

The owner reported that Duke is a scavenger and had started retching and was off of his food. Tim examined him and noticed how sensitive Duke was on palpation of his trachea. Tim recommended Duke be transported to our Meopham Hospital branch to have an anaesthetic to pass our bronchoscope (camera). Through this Tim found a salmon bone in Duke's oropharynx (back of the throat) area.  This was successfully removed with forceps.

We are pleased to report that after a few days of anti inflammatories Duke made a full recovery.
